I was alone one night in the studio and fiddled around with the traditional "I'll tell me ma".
This is what I came up with. To all my Irish and English friends.
lyrics
I'll tell me ma
I'll tell me ma when I go home
The boys won't leave the girls alone
They pulled my hair, they stole my comb
But that's all right till I go home
She is handsome, she is pretty
She is the belle of Belfast city
She is courting one, two, three
Please, won't you tell me, who is she?
Albert Mooney says he loves her
All the boys are fighting for her
They knock at the door and they ring the bell
Saying, oh my true love, are you well?
Out she comes as white as snow
Rings on her fingers and bells on her toes
Old John Murray says she'll die
If she doesn't get the fellow with the roving eye
She is handsome, she is pretty
She is the belle of Belfast city
She is courting one, two, three
Please, won't you tell me, who is she?
Let the wind and the rain and the hail blow high
Let the snow come tumbling from the sky
She's as nice as apple pie
And she'll get her fellow by and by
When she gets a lad of her own
She won't tell her ma when she goes home
Let them all come as they will
It's Albert Mooney she loves still

Dino Soldo is an extraordinary musician and songwriter, who toured with Leonard Cohen, Ray Charles, Johnny Guitar Watson etc. This is his latest solo record and in my opinion his best up to date. Martin Praetorius
This is my favourite autumn record of all times. Beautiful melodies and heartbreaking lyrics, deliverd by a quite unique and soothing voice. Martin Praetorius
